How Lume
Link Works
RGB Lighting
Integrated low-power LEDs inside transparent Cat6/Cat6a Ethernet cable glows in vibrant colours, powered by PoE+ switches or injectors.
App Control
The Lume Link app lets users assign colours by port, VLAN, or device type, set blinking patterns, and group cables by rack or site.
Universal Compatibility
Works with any standard RJ45 port. Lighting requires PoE+; data transmission works independently.
AI-Driven Features
- Auto VLAN identification and colour assignment using AI predictive models
- Predictive maintenance alerts for cable health and PoE performance
- Voice or natural language control via the app
- Real-time network topology mapping with LED visualisation
- Usage behaviour modelling to highlight unusual device activity
RGB Lighting & VLAN Identification
- Purple + Pulse (2s every 10s) → VLAN 100 (IP Cameras)
- Yellow + Heartbeat (2s every 10s) → VLAN 10 (VoIP Phones)
- White + Strobe (2s every 10s) → VLAN 1 (WAPs)
Concept render – final product may differ.
Smart Control & Application Layer
- Controlled via the Pulse Net app (iOS, Android, and desktop).
- Cloud + Local modes: local-only operation for sensitive environments, or cloud sync for enterprise monitoring.
- Encrypted API communication ensures cable commands remain secure.
- Voice/NLP integration with Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa for hands-free tasks.
Full Customization
Default color/pattern scheme is fully customizable. Users can remap colors and effects (pulse, strobe, wave, etc.) via the app to match their VLAN setup. Suitable for schools, enterprises, and data centers.
Network Visibility & Troubleshooting
No more manual tracing - LED states show instantly if a cable is active, inactive, or in error.Embedded temperature and humidity sensors inside connectors provide early alerts for overheating or environmental risks.
Example use cases:
In the Field
An IT administrator can quickly verify whether a phone VLAN is correctly assigned…
In the Field
If a data centre technician needs to trace a specific cable, they can use the Lume Link app to disable the RGB…
In the Field
A data centre tech can instantly spot which of 100+ cables is carrying abnormal traffic.
In the Field
An IT manager can cycle a PoE-powered access point remotely without pulling cables.
AI-Driven Network Intelligence
Lume Link’s onboard controller and platform integrate with AI-powered analytics to give IT teams predictive insights:
Traffic Pattern Analysis
Detects anomalies such as DDoS attempts, malware beaconing, or misconfigured devices.
Auto VLAN Identification
Predictive Maintenance
Usage Behaviour Modelling
Enterprise Security & Monitoring Integration
Compatible with SNMPv3, Syslog, Splunk, Nagios, Zabbix, and CheckMK, making it easy to integrate with existing NMS setups.
End-to-end encryption ensures data remains protected while diagnostics are transmitted.
Configurable alert mapping: trigger LED codes or push notifications for specific events (e.g., unauthorized login attempts, rogue DHCP servers).
